Sonnet No. 1

Soaked
beddings
& sour
nostrils
of my own body
or the pieces
of uneaten
animals
on the plate
on the floor.
Cold rain,
the soft muscles
around my eyes,
& shelter
from
the things
I said then
or needed to,
then when
your mouth
tasted of
copper
raspberries.
